Dunn A true story of harsh times in
the wild days of early Florida. This song won First Place in
the Will McClean Annual Song Competition. Written and sung by
the great North Florida songwriter, Dennis Dunn. Dennis
commented that he never recorded the song, so this is the one and
only original .... available on the "live" CD "Stayin at Home"
recorded and produced by Ron Patrick at the American Legion Hall,
Tallahassee, Fl. Sept.2, 2002.
Lo-fi "River of Names" Ron Patrick A true
story of the mighty St. John's River in Florida. Named and
renamed by every explorer that "found" it, the river was so strong
in its youth that its current pounded back the Atlantic ..... with
tide against tide crashing and boiling just north of
Jacksonville. So said the Spaniards. Rick Ott on the
Fender and Tommy Owen on bass. A rewritten unplugged version
of this song, retitled The Mighty St.
John's, placed in the Top Ten of the 2007 Will McLean New
Florida Song Contest.
